Gözleme: Gözleme is another savoury pastry dish made from flatbread dough and a variety of toppings that can include minced beef or lamb, chopped seafood and fish, spinach, eggplant, potatoes and many different types of cheese.

Ayran: Ayran is a delicious beverage made from fresh yoghurt and water. It is the traditional accompaniment to Turkish delicacies that involve grilled meats, rice or savoury pastries.

Beyaz peynir: Beyaz peynir is a type of cheese made from unpasteurized sheep milk. In flavour and texture, it is very similar to Greek feta cheese.

Meze: Meze is not a Turkish dish per se, but a suite of appetisers similar to Spanish tapas or Italian antipasto. Typical dishes served as meze will include hot pepper pastes, often flavoured with nuts; white cheeses and thick strained yoghurts; sliced melons and other fruits; dolma and kofte.
