Baked beans with pulled pork, ground beef and molasses – I’ve been doing this version of baked beans for years, after a friend of mine described something he called ‘cowboy beans’. This turned out to be different from what he meant, but far better.
Simple navy beans are loaded up with pulled pork, ground beef, barbecue sauce and molasses. The beans are baked off for a couple of hours, and the end result is rich, intensely flavored and worthy of being a main dish. It’s easy to do in an oven, although if you’re running a grill or smoker, go ahead and put the pot in with anything you’re already smoking, for even more flavor.
