Tiramisu
For those who may not already know, Tiramisu a popular coffee-flavored dessert in Italy.It has been around for a couple of years now. Though many variations exist, the standard method of cooking Tiramisu involves dipping ladyfingers in coffee and making layers with egg yolks and egg whites, in addition to sugar, mascarpone cheese and the whole set up flavored with cocoa. The recipe is now common in preparation of various cakes and desserts. Here is how to go about the whole process:
Ingredients:
1. One pound of ziti pasta—preferably dry
2. One onion—finely chopped
3. One pound of lean ground beef
4. Two jars of spaghetti sauce—26-ounce jars
5. Six ounces of sliced provolone cheese
6. One and a half cups of sour cream
7. Six ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese
8. Two table spoons of parmesan cheese—grated
Method
1. In a large pot, put a little salt and bring to a boil before you add the ziti pasta. Cook until the paste becomes firm to bite. That should take about eight minutes then drain.
2. Put a large skillet over a medium heat and add onion and the ground beef. Cook until brown and add the spaghetti sauce. Simmer for about fifteen minutes.
3. Place a greased baking dish, preferably 9 by 3 inches, in a pre-heated oven of 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Put your layers as follows: Take half of the ziti pasta first, followed by provolone cheese, add sour cream, put half of the sauce mixture, add the remaining ziti, add the mozzarella cheese and the remaining sauce mixture in that order. Use the parmesan cheese to top up.
4. Bake the mixture in a preheated oven until all cheese is melted. Remove from oven and serve.
This process should take a total of 55 minutes, with preparation time taking 35 minutes and cooking takes 25 minutes. With the above quantities, you can be able to serve ten people at one sitting.
