Quick & Easy Modak recipes | No steam Sooji – Rava Modak Recipe | Butterscotch Almond Modak

With the 10-day Ganpati festival round the corner, it is time to welcome Lord Ganesha and offer him his favourite modaks / modakams.
Whenever one thinks of celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, and bringing “Bappa” into one’s home, it is usually followed by the thought of offering modaks, Lord Ganesha’s favourite, to the deity.Modaks (sweet rice flour dumplings filled with coconut and jaggery) or Ukadiche modak, is a ritual sweet dish, specially prepared on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi to offer to Ganpati Bappa. Hatwalaniche Ukadiche Modak is something everyone enjoys during the festival. It is either made at home or purchased from shops.The delectable dumplings are extremely popular in Maharashtra and while the traditional ones are a must-have, today there are interesting variations too, to cater to different taste buds. we bring you 2 quick and easy to make modak recipes . So what better way to do that than by making those delicious modaks yourself!
Here we bring you 2 easy Modak Recipe that’s not only quick but, can be easily made at home. The modak recipe we listed below is most basic of Indian recipes also one of the tastiest! Trying this modak / modakam recipe at home is an easy way to get a delicious easy home made sweet.
Easy no steam sooji – rawa sheera modak
1 cup semolina(sooji/rava)
1¾ cup whole milk
1 to 2 tbsp ghee
3/4cup sugar
1 teaspoon cardamom
chopped nuts, optional
saffron(kesar) infused milk or food color optional
Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan. Add sooji and roast until it becomes very light. Add milk, sugar and cardamom. Keep stirring until the sooji mixture becomes dense and comes together like a dough. Nuts and saffron can also to this sooji sheera mixture. Fill the modak mould with the sooji sheera mixture . Seal tightly and de-mould. No steam instant sooji sheera modak is ready.
How to make Butterscotch Modak
Ingredients:
1 cup Almond Flour
¼ cup Desiccated Coconut
¼ cup Butterscotch Sauce
Butterscotch Sauce
– 1 cup Castor Sugar
– 4 tbsp Butter
– 1 cup Fresh Cream
– 1 tsp vanilla essence
– a pinch of salt
Method
Butterscotch Modak
1. In a bowl mix together the almond flour and desiccated coconut.
2. Now add the butterscotch sauce and mix well.
3. Then take a Modak mold, fill with the mixture.
4. Fill the modak mould with the almond butterscotch mixture
5. Seal from the top by adding a little more almond flour mixture.
6. Demold carefully and serve on a banana leaf.

Butterscotch Sauce
1. In a saucepan melt the sugar and allow it to turn golden brown.
2. Then add the butter and stir to form an emulsion.
3. Now add the fresh cream carefully and mix well.
4. Keep stirring to mix everything well
5. Bring the sauce to a boil and turn off the heat and vanilla essence and salt. Do not boil for more than 4 to 5 minutes , the sauce will thicken as it cools down.
Once it comes to room temperature, use as desired
