Crock Pot Carnitas Recipe. Fried Pork. Mexican Fried Pork, tacos.
Easy crock pot pork shoulder/butt recipe.
Pork, lime, garlic salt, taco seasoning, and oil. Very simple recipe.
Recipe:
5 lbs. pork shoulder (butt) cut into chunks
1.5 tablespoons garlic salt
1 packet taco seasoning
1 lime, juiced
oil, enough to cover meat in crock pot.
Place meat, lime juice, garlic salt and taco seasoning into crock pot, mix well to coat meat with seasonings. Pour in oil to just below the top of the meat, the meat will sink so no need to cover. Heat in crock pot for 8-12 hrs at the lower setting (not keep warm). Once meat is done, strain out meat. You can vacuum-save the meat and freeze, or keep in fridge for a few days max. To serve, place some of the meat into a hot pan and fry up (no need for oil). You can add some salt and pepper or chili powder at this point too. Once crispy, serve on warm tortillas with onions, cilantro, lime and some salsa or hot sauce, or with beans, rice, cheese in a burrito. Enjoy!
