Welcome! Thanks so much for stopping by! In this video I am sharing four easy and super delicious Easter side dishes. These side dishes are amazing dishes that go with any dinner, really, but they are perfect for Easter! I truly think you will love these meals just as much as me and my family. I hope you enjoy the video!
Potatoes Au Gratin
8-10 Potatoes – Peeled, cut into cubes, boiled – I do about a potato to a potato and a half per person. I always like extra when making this dish – so more is better!
Sauce
2 Tbs butter
2 Tbs flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1-1.25 cups of whole milk
2-4 cups sharp cheddar cheese (medium is good – sharp is preferred) Get the block cheese and shred yourself
1/4 tsp dry mustard
Paprika – to sprinkle on top
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-45 mins (until hot and bubbly). These are great because they can be made ahead of time (I usually do 1-2 days before I need them). I just cover with foil and put in the fridge. The day of, I take them out of the fridge about 45mins-1 hour before I need to put them in the oven (to bring them down to room temp) and then bake them at 350 degrees for about 45 mins (maybe an hour) depending how cold they are. You just want them hot and bubbly.
Strawberry Jello Salad
8 ox container of cool whip
1/2-1 jar of Maraschino cherries – chopped up
1 large family size bow of strawberry jello – made according to the directions on the box
I can of crushed pineapples – drain as much of the liquid out
1 banana – sliced
Add the banana just before serving
Green Bean Casserole – Preheat oven to 350 degrees Bake for 25-30 mins
4 lb fresh green beans – cleaned and trimmed
1 can cream of celery
Fried Onions – like French’s
**OPTIONAL** 1-2 Tbs milk
These can also be made ahead of time. I usually do the day before and cover with foil and put in the fridge. The day of, I take them out of the fridge and leave them on my counter for about 30 mins or so before I need to put them in the oven. I then bake them at 350 degrees for about 30-40 mins (depends how cold they still are). You just want them hot and the onions crispy.
Strawberry Almond Spinach Salad
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tbs white vinegar
1 tbs sesame seeds
1 tbs poppy seed
2 tsp onion powder
Fe dashes of Worcestershire sauce
Strawberries – sliced
spinach – cut up a bit
1/4 cup almonds – toasted
