KUNAFA is a traditional Arabic dessert made with thin shredded or noodle-like pastry soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and typically layered with cheese, or with other ingredients such as clotted cream or nuts.
INGREDIENTS & PROCESS:
1 CUP WATER
1/2 CUP SUGAR
COOK UNTIL SUGAR DISSOLVED
1/4 TEASPOON LEMON JUICE
1/2 TEASPOON SAFFRON ESSENCE
COOK UNTIL THE SYRUP THICKENS
150gm VERMICELLI
BREAK THE VERMICELLI
2 TABLESPOON BUTTER
MIX WELL
RESERVE HALF FOR LATER USE
1/2 TEASPOON YELLOW FOOD COLOR (POWDER)
2 TABLESPOON FOOD COLOR MIXED VERMICELLI
SPREAD EVENLY
1 TABLESPOON RICOTTA CHEESE
2 TABLESPOON MOZZARELLA CHEESE
2 TABLESPOON RESERVE VERMICELLI
COOK IT IN MEDIUM LOW HEAT FOR 20-25MIN.
CLEAR THE EDGES
FLIP THE MOULDS
WARM SUGAR SYRUP
CHOPPED PISTACHIO ON THE TOP
