HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CREAM CHEESE AT HOME | SIMPLE DESSERT RECIPE

The commercially purchased cream cheese is priced at approximately Rs 200 for a 150-gram pack, but today, let’s prepare 250 grams at home for just Rs 130 using basic ingredients that are likely already in your kitchen💁🏻‍♂️✨ Believe me, this method couldn’t be any simpler, and you will have this luxurious, velvety, homemade cream cheese in your kitchen in no time at all🥰✨ Give it a try today and create your favorite desserts with the freshest cream cheese you’ve ever tasted😎

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of fresh cream
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of vinegar

Method

  1. Heat milk and cream in a saucepan over medium heat until warm.
  2. Once warm, add salt and vinegar. The mixture will curdle and separate. Remove from heat.
  3. Place a muslin cloth over a large sieve placed on a bowl, then pour the mixture onto it. Allow the excess whey water to drain into the bowl.
  4. Transfer the cheese from the muslin cloth to a blender jar and blend until smooth.
  5. If the texture is not smooth enough, add whey water 1 tablespoon at a time and blend for 15 seconds.
  6. Once desired texture is achieved, transfer to a container, cling wrap to prevent drying, and refrigerate for 30 mins.

Tips and Tricks

  • Use only full-fat milk for best results.
  • Try using lemon juice instead of vinegar for curdling the milk.
  • If the cream cheese texture is too dry while blending, add a little whey water for a creamier outcome.
  • To create a block of cream cheese, line a small baking dish with parchment paper, place the cheese in it, and cover to avoid it from drying out.
