Murgh Lababdar | Chicken Lababdar Recipe | Mughlai Chicken | Lababdar Chicken Curry | Enjoy this Delicious Chicken Lababdar Recipe

Ingredients for Murgh Lababdar:

– Chicken, large portions, ideally thigh and leg pieces – 500 grams

For Marination:
– Salt- 1 teaspoon
– Turmeric powder- 1/4 teaspoon
– Red Chilli powder- 1.5 teaspoons
– Cumin powder- 1/2 teaspoon
– Whisked yogurt- 4 tablespoons

To Be Boiled in 2 cups of liquid for 5 minutes, strained and blended to a paste:
– Boiled Water- 2 cups
– Onion- 1 medium onion, diced
– Ginger- 1-inch piece, chopped
– Garlic cloves- 6
– Cashew nuts- 5
– Halved Green chillies- 2 small

Whole Spices for Tempering:
– Green cardamom- 3
– Cloves- 3
– Cinnamon- 1 piece
– Javitri (Mace)- 1/4 piece
– Black peppercorns- 8
– Bay leaf- 1

– Kashmiri Chilli powder- 1 tsp
– Coriander powder- 2 tsp
– Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
– Tomato purée- 3 tbsp
– Fresh cream- 3 tbsp
– Roasted and powdered Kasuri Methi- 1 tsp

– Seasoning Salt- 1/8 tsp (a pinch)
– Oil- 4 tbsp

Preparation Method:
– Coat the chicken slices with the specified ingredients. Combine thoroughly and let it rest at room temperature for an hour.
– Boil 2 cups of liquid in a pot and add the mentioned ingredients. Stir and continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Strain and let it cool. Blend to a paste.

Cooking Instructions:
– Heat oil in a pan and add the whole spices. Stir and add the blended paste.
– Combine well and sauté on medium heat for roughly 5 minutes.
– Then, add the Kashmiri Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Garam masala powder, tomato purée, and a pinch (1/8 tsp) of salt. Mix well and cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes.
– Now, introduce the marinated chicken, mix well, and sauté on high heat for 5 minutes. Cook further while stirring occasionally for another 5 minutes on medium heat.
– Add 200 ml of water, stir, cover and let it cook on low heat for about 15 minutes.
– Uncover, add 50 ml of water, stir.
– Pour in the cream and the roasted, powdered Kasuri Methi.
– Mix thoroughly and cook for 2 minutes on low heat until oil separates.
