High Protein Chicken Shawarma! ONLY 390 calories – 45g protein / 35g carbohydrates / 7g lipids
Meals you cherish can still be savored while shedding pounds! These are absolutely delightful, jam-packed with zest, and will make your journey towards shedding pounds so much more pleasant!
Marinade for the poultry:
• 250g of uncooked fowl breast sliced into strips
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon turmeric
• 1 teaspoon cumin
• 1 teaspoon salt & pepper
• 2 tablespoons tomato paste
• 1/2 lemon juice
Mix thoroughly
Panfry for 3-4 mins each side on moderate heat
For the potato sticks (approximately 50g used per wrapping):
• 400g uncooked potato sliced into sticks
• 1 teaspoon cornstarch
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• salt (added after cooking)
Bake at 220C for 20 minutes
For the garlic condiment:
• 3 tablespoons fat-free Hellenic yogurt
• 2 tablespoons reduced fat mayo
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 lemon juice
For the wrapping (per wrap):
• 1 whole grain Lebanese flatbread (112 cals per wrap – brand is Rayan or Pita Village)
• 2 tablespoons garlic condiment
• Poultry pieces
• 50g of cooked potato sticks
• Pickles
This formula yields 2 shawarma wraps (perhaps 3)
