Should You Plan a Trip To Tenerife?

You’ve got it bad…the travel bug, that is. Everywhere you go, you seem to be plotting your next big trip. Your mind is filled with questions. What is the perfect spot to get away from it all? Yes, already the wheels are turning. You know what that means. It is time to stop thinking about travelling and actually get out there and do it. If you still don’t know where you should go, you might want to think about Tenerife. This exotic island could give you the vacation you’ve been dreaming of.

Tourism in Tenerife, Canary Islands, has boomed in the last several years. While many of the visitors come from Britain, Ireland, and Germany, other countries are starting to visit the island more frequently as well. Does it have to do with the awe-inspiring natural wonders, like Mount Teide, or is it just the lure of a relaxing beach vacation? Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure: more and more people are enjoying what Tenerife has to offer. That includes astounding natural sights, a bustling nightlife, and tons of local culture.

So, should you plan a trip to Tenerife? Before you make a decision, let’s take a look at some of the highlights of the area. For starters, there are some seriously incredible views to enjoy. The island has a little bit of everything, from densely forested areas to volcanoes. It all depends on where in Tenerife you are staying and what you want to see while you’re there. If you are interested in taking a peek at the third largest volcano, head on over to The Teide National Park. For greenery and cliffs, take in the views at Orotava Valley. Or to make that beach vacation a reality, check out one of the many beaches available to the public. There are always options available to tourists visiting this exceptional island.

Other highlights of Tenerife include the Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre (a museum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife that houses objects from the pre-Hispanic Canary Islands), the Plaza de España (the largest square in the Canary Islands), The Tenerife Space of Arts (a contemporary art museum), the Auditorio de Tenerife (a large auditorium and major attraction), as well as a raft of theme parks and amusement parks, like the Loro Parque (a zoo that is located outside of Puerto de la Cruz) and the Las Águilas-Jungle Park (yet another zoo and botanical park near the Los Cristianos beach). Add in shopping malls, boutiques, and fine dining options and you may run out of time before you run out of things to do!

When you’ve got the travel bug, the only cure is to go somewhere great. Tenerife just may be the place you’ve been searching for. With spectacular views, tons of attractions, and plenty of historic sights to keep you busy during the day, it will be a trip you won’t soon forget.
