3 Ways to Entertain Yourself in the Airport

If you’re an avid traveler, there’s no doubt that you’ve spent countless hours in the airport. Especially if you’re flying international and trying to save some money. Cheaper flights usually involve long layovers. Other than having some airport food and trying not to spend money in the overpriced shops, there’s not a ton to do. Thankfully we are in a digital age that allows us hours of entertainment.

Movies and TV shows

This is often something I like to prep ahead of time. Having movies or tv already downloaded is key to keep yourself from getting bored in the airport. You can also buy dvd’s for your computer, but I prefer to download or use Netflix. I even rent movies from iTunes sometimes.

Play Games

Candy Crush is one of my favourite time killers, but I can only play it for an hour or so, not much longer. I also like to play mind puzzle-like games both online and in books (which you can probably buy at the airport). Lastly, you can try to find some Mario games online (I LOVE super Mario from nintendo), maybe find board games you can play against people online, card games or Google the best new bingo sites.

Read a Book or Magazine

It sounds so oldschool, I know! But I LOVE reading physical books. I read on kobo sometimes, but I mostly prefer to have a book in hand and take a minute to put my phone away. I find when I read on my phone or computer, I’m easily distracted by messages or emails. I love to grab a glass of wine in the airport and read a book (kobo or not), a magazine or something interesting I found online.

There are so many options to keep yourself entertained in the airport. Although reading a book is one of my favourites, with technology these days, it’s not your only option. Lastly, don’t forget to get up and walk around a bit every 30 minutes or so. Stretch out your body before getting on the next flight.
