Mediterranean Delights

Beautiful and colorful Spain is in Europe on the border of the Mediterranean Sea. It is located south of France and shares a border with Portugal. Spain’s climate is great for growing crops because it has hot summers and very mild winters. The people enjoy a great abundance and variety of seafood provided by the Mediterranean waters. Especially in coastal Spain, seafood is plentiful in many Spanish main dishes. More inland, you will find stews, breads, rice, and vegetable dishes.

The word tapas mean lids and today it is the name for Spanish appetizers. Spanish food prides itself on being fresh and flavorful. The seafood dishes are very popular throughout the entire country.
